Anecdotal:  'Systems'  have recognised the importance of Risk Stratified Follow Up as a means to ‘free up resource’ in the short term, though acknowledging this may be re-allocated as numbers of new diagnoses increase and workforce skillsets change

Benefits for the organisations and system

1.4.3  For the system – decreased use of unplanned appointments, more efficient use of resources, and new opportunities for care and support.

If we promote and facilitate better communication and coordination across secondary, primary and community settings and communicate to people diagnosed with cancer what they can expect across settings then we will prevent unnecessary use of health and social care resources and utilise existing resources more efficiently, as well as, find new opportunities to provide care and support.

This is because the ‘system’ will makes it straightforward and easy for people to access and re-access to get the most appropriate form of care and support, at the right times, to address their holistic needs
